Solar Eclipse Viewing Schedule

Brockett Elementary School will participate in the viewing of the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st. We will have a practice run tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. to ensure students are safe and follow the viewing guidelines.
  • Students not participating in the outside viewing will view the eclipse online.  Students will be sent outside based on the schedule below:
    • 5th Grade will go outside first. (2:10)
    • 4th Grade next. (2:15)
    • 3rd Grade next. (2:15)
    • 2nd Grade next. (2:25)
    • 1st Grade next. (2:25)
    • Kindergarten last. (2:25)
    • All students will return inside after the total eclipse. (2:40)
    • Teachers and students will discuss the solar eclipse. Teachers will answer any questions students may have.
    • Dismissal begins at 3:15.
  • Parents will be able to check their child(ren) out up until 1:45 p.m. or come to Brockett to view the eclipse with their child by 1:30 p.m. Parents viewing the eclipse, can check their child out after students return to the building.
  • Students without permission slips will not be permitted to attend the outside viewing or students' whose parents did not make a selection on the form (opt in or opt out not checked) will remain inside.
    Glasses will not be provided to parents or visitors, only students and staff members.
